For some people, it's exactly what their loved one wanted. For others, it's a very simple alternative to a traditional funeral. And of course, the most important thing, is giving you as much choice as possible.
For some families though, it can still feel like something is missing. Like they didn't have a chance to hear their story and say a proper goodbye.

What is a Direct?
A cremation that takes place without a funeral service at the crematorium.
There is typically no congregation, eulogy, or music.
Families simply receive their loved one's ashes afterwards.
Memorial Service
We offer an intimate memorial service.
We meet with you just like every other family, put your loved one's story together and conduct a small scale service for you.
If permitted by the Funeral Director, this could take place before the cremation in their Chapel of Rest. Or, after the cremation in a place more suited to them.

If affordability is the reason you've made the choice for Direct, or your loved one just wanted something simple, we also offer a written memorial.
This is where we put their story together for you to deliver.
Or just to have as a family keepsake.

Frequently Asked Questions:
Can we have a service before our Direct Cremation?
Potentially, yes. This will depend on the Funeral Director and the plan you've taken out with them as to whether access to their Chapel of Rest is permitted. It's worth maybe having a conversation with them about this.
What if the cremation has already taken place?
That's absolutely fine. Our Memorial Service option can take place afterwards. There is no requirement for it to happen immediately - you have the freedom to choose when and where it takes place.
What if our loved one's wish was to not have a service?
This all comes back to the freedom of choice. If they've chosen to not have a traditional service, then it's important to honour their wishes. That's exactly why we've introduced the £100 Written Memorial option so you can say goodbye in a way that suits you, or just to have their story as a keepsake.
Is a Memorial Service religious?
As with all our service options, this is completely your choice. If you want to add prayers, hymns or elements of faith, we can of course do this for you.
